Cognac diamonds, also known as Champagne diamonds when lighter and more yellow in color, have a tint of brownish body color to them, resembling that of its namesake, Cognac liquor. Roberto Coin has paired these rich brown, opulent gems with the rustic yet smooth reclaimed Ebony Wood from Africa to create the Ebony CapriPlus collection—creating a collection of effortlessly chic jewelry.
The warm shades of sunset, the crystal-clear transparency of water, the bright green of Mediterranean nature, the relaxed luxury of the island... these are the elements that inspired Roberto Coin's CapriPlus collection. With the selection of soft pastel stones, and rich woods, the collection emits a subtle earthy aura, of course done with Roberto Coin’s unmistakable sparkle thanks to the black, pink or yellow sapphires, amethyst, topaz, rhodolite or warm brown diamonds. Reclaimed ebony, cabochon Chrysoprase and orange moonstones are the most unique selections used.
In 2009-2010 Roberto Coin will support CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty and the campaign will once again feature model Christy Turlington Burns.
