John Hardy Ayu Collection:
"Ayu" means beautiful woman in Indonesian. John Hardy is inspired by the natural world, and with this series of flowers and leaves, it represents spring and rebirth. The island of Bali is covered with fragrant night flowering jasmine and Balinese legend states that those who dream of jasmine will enjoy good fortune, especially in matters of the heart.

Traditional Balinese silversmithing uses a technique called granulation, which entails applying tiny beads of metal one by one. John Hardy has distilled this process by taking the traditional bead and flattening it, by hand, into his signature 'dot' pattern. The resulting pieces feature 22kt gold spheres that sparkle with the movement and dappled reflections of a tropical garden.

With his Ayu collection, John Hardy brings together his love of nature and his respect for traditional craftsmanship.
